I am going to follow this story until an elected government comes into place to understand if it is rhetoric or someone actually manages to recover 'scammed' money it sounds like a rice scheme to me!

Is there a limit to number of wives one has been taken in by ?

There is probably no limit to the number of times a fool may be fooled.

I get the feeling you file before you leave Thailand, then have to come back to collect your money ! Thereby spending more money in Thailand and counting as double on the tourist figures - just a clever ploy to record more tourists.

The fund will then be used to speed up the payment of compensation to tourists who have been scammed by unscrupulous tour companies.

We all have to realize that’s this is just a giggle article, right?

also.... by and large, readers here aren’t tourists, so we probably wouldn’t qualify (eg... what info was given on your entry card, or are you on a non tourist visa?)

and... wais seem to be the most common form of compensation I read about, for any wrongdoing to another, so maybe they need to call in the “ Wai Fund”

but... they are going to take some money.... maybe enough to pay staff and facilities etc etc... maybe a little profit (maybe). If they do, this could be used to buy INSURANCE to cover scam compensation

i know... I do say stupid stuff ( at times... be nice 😂😂😂)

If this country compensated everyone who'd been scammed it would be bankrupt in a week.  Oh, hang on a minute, 100 baht fee for every claim - straight to the richest country on the planet.
