if going TO the airport, you can always book an ALL THAI TAXI  in advance

I really like All Thai Taxi and have tried to book them when I can. They also have an app for your phone. Problem is, there are not enough of them and even phoning them the night before an airport trip, I had about 50% success.

Cheap, yes, but I think many here would debate "good".

Compare it to anywhere, and the Bangkok service can stand up to anywhere.

Compare Bangkok taxis to taxi services anywhere? Seriously?

OK, for similarly large cities nearby, how about Hong Kong or Singapore?

In both those cities, my destination is never refused, they always use the meter without asking, and they are all clean, well-serviced and fitted with seat belts.

Yes, to anywhere.

Some TVF readers though complain about anything.

Well to please and cool you down a bit, obviously,  if the customer looks like a broke Cheap Charlie,  the Thai taxis or tuk tuk cowboys, may feel sorry and perhaps offer good and cheap service.

That is true, I recently talked to a ATT driver and asked how many are on the streets of BKK, and there are only 200 cabs as of now, so getting one is like a lottery win
