8 southern provinces warned of danger from flash flood and flooding

The Thai Meteorological Department issued a warning of heavy rain and strong wind in southern provinces from Songkhla downward to the southernmost provinces today (Sunday) until Monday as a result of strong northeastern monsoon which is covering the Gulf and the South.

A woman has been arrested for using the stolen ID card of Ms Nicha Kiatthanapaibul to open bank accounts to be used to keep money transferred from customers duped by a call centre scam gang.

Boat fire off Koh Phi Phi – Chinese tourists injured

A speedboat named ‘King Poseidon’ carrying 31 passengers exploded this morning (January 14) in front of Viking Bay on Koh Phi Phi Ley. Injuries have been reported from the accident.

Decline in early school leavers but problems remain

Despite a large decrease in the number of school dropouts in recent years reported by the Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC), social workers insist the problem remains severe and has caused other headaches such as crime and prostitution among juveniles.
