Some resourceful soul tried to resolve the lack of toilets of the street by fashioning one out of a bucket.

 

One rarely considered side street in Nana has become home to several pop-up bars each evening, drawing a mix of regulars, tourists, and working girls — and all without a bathroom in sight.

Thai-Malaysian police join hands to help victims of call-centre scam

Close cooperation between Thai police and their Malaysian counterparts will enable victims who were detained and forced to work for a “call-centre scam” to return to their homes, Immigration Bureau commissioner Pol Lt-General Sutthipong Wongpin said on Friday.

Phuket police bust bus-riding meth mule

PHUKET:-- A 21-year-old man was arrested attempting to smuggle 1,564 methamphetamine pills (ya bah) onto Phuket last night (Feb 8). The pills were en route to their delivery point – a government housing estate in Srisoonthorn.

In the past week, the air quality in Bangkok has hit “unhealthy” levels, according to the Air Pollution Index, and the problem has worsened to the point that smog can be seen with the naked eye in the morning.

Bitter investors file complaint of millions lost in Phuket Ponzi scheme

PHUKET:-- A group of investors who claim to be victims of the “Srithai Network” filed a complaint at the Damrongdhama Centre (ombudsman’s office) at Phuket Provincial Hall today (Feb 9), saying they have lost B19 million in the business scheme.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Representatives of 114 political groups met Thailand's election panel on Friday, in one of the first signs the country is readying for a general election the junta has promised to hold in November, with many pledging support for the ruling military.
