Grabbing just a cup of bubble milk tea can produce a hefty load of plastic. There’s the cup, its lid, the straw, a bag and that disposable handle-bag thing. After a few happy moments of sipping, it all goes off to the landfill for the next 500 years. Take home some dish soap from the supermarket in a new bottle – the old, perfectly good one is already pushing up daisies.

Network vows protests if court staff don’t vacate houses

THE DOI Suthep Forest Reclamation Network yesterday called for the Courts of Justice to return 45 houses and nine flats in the controversial housing project built on the forested slopes of Chiang Mai’s Doi Suthep to the Treasury Department. The request also entails eviction of 30 families who have recently moved into the properties.

The Culture and Foreign ministries are following up an accusation made by London University’s prominent School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), that it accepted as a gift a 13th-century sculpture possibly smuggled from Thailand.

Dept of Industrial Works cracks down on unauthorized importation of electronic waste

CHACHOENGSAO, 14th June 2018 (NNT) - The Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) has visited Chachoengsao province to inspect factories that have been processing imported electronic waste without the proper permits. Authorities will check whether the hazardous waste has been returned to the original licensed factories and collect groundwater samples for contamination testing.
