Bringing cash into Thailand

Recommended Posts

You want to bring baht into the country?

Surely you want to bring in another currency and change it at super rich ?

Import of hard-foreighn-currency is unlimited. Export of hard-foreighn currency is very limited.
Importing 16 suitcases full of cash in form of $ / £ and Euro will get little attention of Customs, Hotel Receptionists, and Thai- Female -Hostesses.
The only problem arises if one wants to repatriate 16 suitcases full of $/£/Euros.
"Big-Joke" (Thai language: "Chock" has nothing to do with "Joke" in the connection with the English language) is waiting for "Tourists" like this.
More power to him and less power to people that have to ask how much "hard-currency" they are allowed to bring into Thailand.
Cheers.

There was a super rich in the airport last week and several other money changing franchises

Try opening your eyes sometime in the way through...

As much as you have.

A million Euro is 2000 notes, easy in carry on

A common misconception that there is a limit for bringing in cash.

You should check the rules for your country of embarkment!

For most countries:

if the money is "clean" (proof of source) you don't have to fear any declaration at your border or in Thailand.

Still some kind of a secret.

Money changers on the entry to the airport rail link which is outside of the AOT mafia rule.

Misc booths with excellent rates.

Superrich among them.
