Chiang mai: Brit arrested in child sex allegation

CHIANG MAI: -- Police yesterday arrested a British man for allegedly keeping a hilltribe boy as his sex slave for more than two years.

Clive Mark Feinson, 41, initially offered financial help to the boy whose parents were prosecuted on drug charges. The boy was later sexually abused and detained at the suspect’s riverside condominium. The victim, now 14, said he had been abused for over two years.

Police said Feinson had more than 30 pieces of pornography in his condo when nabbed. He also faced charges of sexual abuse in his home country before he moved to Thailand.

Police hold UK paedophile suspect

CHIANG MAI: -- Police in northern Thailand have arrested a Londoner for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old hill tribe boy over a period of more than two years.

Clive Feinson, 41, from London, was arrested after police raided his flat in the northern city of Chiang Mai and rescued the boy, said police Lt Pathiphol Faungfuang.

Feinson, who allegedly has a record of drug abuse, has lived in the city for more than three years, Pathiphol said. The arrest came after a tip-off from the Children and Women's Rights Foundation, a local organisation aimed at fighting sex abuse.

The group suspected that Feinson had been having sex with hill tribe boys in the area for a long time, Pathiphol said.

The unidentified boy, who was moved to a state welfare home after the arrest, told police the suspect had forced him to have sex about twice a week.

Feinson is being detained pending further investigation and trial. He faces up to 15 years in prison if found guilty on charges of paedophilia.

Child sex offenders are disgusting and revolting anywhere, and all deserve their due, no matter what their nationality. I applaud the efforts to stop foreign pedophiles from abusing children in this and any other country.

That being said, I'd like to know what is being done about local pedophiles, as they never seem to be publicized or on the critical radar. Could it be that there are no Thai pedophiles deserving of punishment and negative publicity? why not?

If all child pedophiles were actually prosecuted, there would not be enough room in Thailand to contain the prisoners. The list of people involved in this crime includes many top government officials.

It is simply overlooked (just like prostitution). Only when foreigners are involved is it actually considered a crime as Thailand is more interested in saving face than the issue of immorality.

If he is actually guilty and there has been no fit up, then the first thing that shoud happen is that he should be tied to stocks in the middle of Thapae Gate and pelted with rotten fruit...just for starters :o

So right you are Dradam. My research confirms this sad fact about local pedophiles. Actually, locally, pedophilia is not even seen as much of an issue and is not even defined as such. Therefore, not only is it a huge hypocrisy to only punish and publicize foreign pedophiles, but the lack of will to change the underlying local attitudes are what make Thailand and SEA an attractive destination to these pedophiles to begin with.

:o Local problem is very eveident if you have spent time with locals and lived with them and gained enough trust for them to reveal the truth about their lives.

I was married to a girl who was forced from her home at the age of 11. Her mother's boyfriend was sexually abusing her while the mother was at work. When I asked her why he felt he could do that and get away with it the explanation was this:

Mom was at work, we were alone and so he did what he wanted. He knew that if she told her mom that her mom would look the other way so as not to loose him.

Given the fact that this guy is a real sc*m bag on all accounts(I have met him) I just couldn't see why her mom would do that. She then informed me that a woman her mother's age may not ever find another boyfriend. And so it went until she ran away at 13 and found work in Patpong.

Her mom then had 2 boys and god only knows what their sorrid stories are by now.

I had a girl friend, prior to meeting my wife, who also suffered such abuse at the age of 14 or 15, at the hands of her older brother and his friends. When I asked her about it she said she would be tied to a tree near the house and raped repeatredly while her parents were away form home. If she would have told she would not have been believed and accused of trying to ruin thier lives.

She ended up in Japan working in yakuza "coffee shops" for 3 years. When they felt she was all used up they then turned her over to the Japanese police, after stealing all of her savings, and she was deported with only the cloths on her back.

She drank a bottle of floor cleaner the following week in Bangkok, ended up in hospital, and then finished the job on herself soon after.

Both of these women were truly kind souls, and innocent victims, of horrible men who felt they could do as they please and that society would look the other way.

As I see it locals, are just as bad as anyone else anywhere.

Execution should be the mandatory punishment for paedophilia.

Personally - I prefer castration as a mandatory punishment for paedophilia (and rape), although you'd have to be careful when wording any law with a mandatory sentence so that the 14 year old boy with a 13 year old girlfriend isn't handled the same as a 40 year old pervert...
