THAI raises funds for the construction of a medical center in honor of HM the King
BANGKOK, 2 February 2011 (NNT) – Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) has launched a fundraising campaign for the construction of the Sayamindradhiraj Medical Institute in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The “Ruam Jai Thai for the King” project has been kicked off by THAI, the national flag carrier, with an aim to collect funds towards the construction of the Sayamindradhiraj Medical Institute at Siriraj Hospital in commemoration of HM the King’s 84th birthday anniversary on 5 December this year.
Under the campaign, a 20 THB donation is deducted from every THAI ticket sold on both domestic and international routes and goes directly to the fund. Charity events will also be organized by the company as an opportunity for the public to take part in the effort.
Furthermore, members of the Royal Orchid Plus program can help by donating their miles, at a minimum of 1,000 miles, which will be converted into cash. The “Ruam Jai Thai for the King” project will run until 4 December 2011 and is expected to raise a total of 84 million THB.
