Tech-savvy police to establish LINE network

BANGKOK: -- The Royal Thai Police will run the first check-up on its LINE network this Thursday in an attempt to increase the efficiency and promptness of crime reporting. Police expect the network to be fully utilized by next year.

Sukhumbhand confident he will be re-nominated by Democrat

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra Tuesday voiced scepticism on the opinion survey which said his popularity trailed behind Pheu Thai rival Pongsapat Pongcharoen.

The survey curiously took a sample of respondents from 16 provinces without screening whether they could or would cast votes in the capital, Sukhumbhand said.

"I am certain that I will be nominated by the Democrat Party in my re-election bid," he said.

Plucky Elderly Brit Survives Small Plane Crash

Two British men, one of them 77 years old, survived a small plane crash in a grassy field in Pathum Thani. The men were returning to Bangkok from a business trip when the plane’s engine failed. The plane skidded on the ground after landing and overturned. The men reportedly suffered minor injuries.
