Recommended Posts

What travel options is available from Don Mueng to Siam Paragon?

Either via bus, minivan, skytrain.

Try to avoid taxis as far as possible.

Thanks

Are you carrying much luggage?

If not - then there is a cheap but long way to get to Siam Paragon.

1. Exit door 8 arrivals downstairs, catch the free AOT shuttle bus to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Buses leave twice every hour during the day (see other threads for exact timetables). Trip from DMK-BKK takes less than an hour.

2. Go down to basement level at Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai station (end of the line)

Note that the City line stops at all stations but only costs 45 baht. Express will cost you 90 baht, but runs infrequently.

3. At Phaya Thai, change onto BTS. Take the Bearing line, only 2 stops to Siam.

4. Exit station and walk into Paragon

!!!!! Seen some crazy suggestions before but this one really does take the cake!

Rather than suggest a direct route you give the insane advice that the OP travel 40kms from DMK to BKK Airport, then take the ARL 22kms back towards the center of town. And then take the BTS! Wow, only if someone asked for a tour of BKk to kill a few hours would this make some sense....

Why not just take the A1 bus from DMK to BTS Mo Chit and then BTS to Siam??? Very direct, easy and most likely max of 45mins (except if at peak).

If the next A1 is some time away from departing walk out to Vihavadi-Rangsit rd bus stop and catch the 510 bus to Mo Chit. A number of vans along Vihavadi-Rangsit rd also go to BTS Mo Chit, just ask when they stop (or someone at the bus stop)

Remind myself to never get directions from you.

My wife and I just took that exact trip to Siam. We used the taxi stand at the airport. The taxi used the meter. We went on the tollway and paid the tolls. We did the same on the return trip. It was cheap and pleasant. No tricks or scams.

There was an article in the news the other day about supposedly new airport bus routes from Don Mueang...including the A1 route from the DM Airport to the Mochit Bus Terminal (and apparently the nearby Mochit BTS station), and the A2 from DMA to Victory Monument.

I saw that and found it interesting as the A1 has been running since at least Jan from what I have seen. I think that the A2 is the new service.

Anyone good that the AOT & BMTA has provided some buses to do these two shuttles as they both provide good connections which would assist many posting queries here. I had the impression that the A1 ran every 30mins but not according to the article info.

The BMTA said the A1 route will have 6-8 buses making 14 round trips a day and the A2 will have 8-10 buses running 20 round trips a day. The first bus leaves at 9am and the last trip is at midnight.

Need to check the schedules though if anyone comes across them.

Thanks for all the info and replies.

Lakegeneve was on the spot, thanks mate.

Exit number 6 at DM, bus A1 or A2 to Mo Chit (waited +- 15 minutes for bus to fill up), BTS Mo Chit to Siam Paragon.

Travelling +- 30 minutes.

Return trip the same procedure. Just cross the pedestrian bridge at Mo Chit, wait for the A1 or A2 bus and back to DM. Return trip was 50 min due to traffic.

Cost, will not even mention it.
