You would think that the leader of the Democrat Party could come up with something better.

Not really. This is exactly the glib statement you would expect from the armies pet politician.  Expect very little from Abhisit and you won't be disappointed.

There is a good article on newmandala.org about this incident and who is most likely behind it. After reading it everybody will understand why it can't be discussed and no Government agency wants to do anything about it.

Thais know Thais.  They require a firm hand.  If left to their own devices, elected governments will eventually implode, be dissolved, and continue the established cycle.    And so, after 80 odd years, it's time Thailand quit pretending, give up the failed experiment and go with what feels more natural - communism.  Communist "Light".  And just get on with it.

The new plaque says it all.  The idealistic, imported system of government doesn't work here and should no longer be the primary motivation.  Only that the people are "happy".  As long as everyone is "happy", that end justifies the means.

I love the way the NCPO has asked "all sides" to stop asking to see the CCTV footage in the interests of "national reconciliation".

The police are quite willing to investigate the incident as long as the person who installed the original 1932 plaque comes forward and registers a complaint, accompanied by both parents...
