On 28th February the army found an 80 kilo gram bomb behind Baan Tawai Train Station, Thepha, Songkla province. The terrorists had also stolen a pickup.

The investigation found that. Inside the car, there were two 15-kilogram exploded gas tanks weighing 40 kilograms each, totaling about 80 kilograms and a gallon of 10 gallon fuel tanks.

I hear you, but in this case, isn't the "southern insurgency" about territory not Islam? They want their own autonomous area.

You are right,  but in those cases isn't the "southern insurgency about territory"   only because they want Muslims laws not Buddhists one, so one could hardly say not (because of) Islam?

This is getting worrying  There is a risk that if this sort of thing continues troops may have to be redeployed from the campaign against E cigarettes......

Had you also considered the PTSD among the troops deployed in that long campaign against the Dhammachaiyodingdong?

With all respect to you, as soon as a group hurts innocent people they lose any legitimacy they may have had.  In other words, who cares about their cause.

Indeed, try telling that to the Red Shirt leaders.

I believe that they are being rested before being committed to duties at the new waste recycling plant at Kanchanaburi which has just been opened by 1 Div

Always a bit of a juggling act fighting a war on several fronts, just look at the problems the Germans had in 1945....
