Shooting suspect surrenders, denies ‘attempted murder’ charges

PHUKET:-- The second suspect in the shooting of a police assistant surrendered himself to police yesterday. 

Suthiwut Thawan, 21, is a native of Phang Nga. Following the shooting, he returned to his family home in Phang Nga, but surrendered himself after police appraised his family of the situation.

Mr Suthiwut and another suspect named Sathaporn Kuoaywanich were involved in a drive by shooting of a police assistant who tried to stop them at a checkpoint. The suspects were in possession of krathom leaves at the time.

Makes me wonder how many of the countless trigger happy maniacs in this country, leaving home with a gun, and come home at night surprised by the fact they didn't shoot anyone today.

Many times i have seen off duty policemen in their white vests drinking alcohol in roadside stalls and with their guns in open view.

Committed suicide if farang's . Never mind khun mare and por " problem solved next week police will say sorry wrong guys we picked up 2 or 3 burmese guys " after a week they confessed .

Another casualty of a failed drug war.

Krathom is about as psychoactive as Red Bull, safer than cigarettes and not a tenth as dangerous as alcohol but it's prohibited and the laws are strict enough to cause shootouts on the street.
