Pattaya pub raided for violating junta closure order

By The Nation

PATTAYA: -- Troops and police raided a pub in Pattaya early Monday morning and arrested the owner and two staff for reopening the business despite it being hit with a five-year closure order issued by the National Council for Peace and Order.

The officials found some 100 pub-goers dancing, so they were rounded up for age and drug checks. The officials found 18 men and four women tested positive for drugs.

Six zip bags of ketamine and 20 ecstasy pills were found on the floor.

Piywat Lertjitras, 24, the owner, and two staff members, Supranee Lap-udo, 33, and Natthanan Kungwansit, 30, were arrested.

They were charged with operating an entertainment venue without a license and selling alcohol without a license, allowing drug use on the premises and violating an NCPO order.

There is real news, fake news, and Thai news.

You could pick up a  Pattaya red top 15 years old.......

and you would read the same reports as this week's edition.

(Also featuring the same pictures of the same foreign staff.)

sounds like a 'pattaya cleanup' could never be completed; previous violators would jump keep popping up again and again

And then read the same responses to the report on TVF. Except TVF wasn't quite born yet. Pattaya Mai letters to the editor, perhaps.

Name of the pub was published elsewhere. I read the newspaper too...

Seems that owner Piywat, 24, needs to find much bigger brown envelopes.
