Quite possibly, they're in the country working illegally, with no money, no advocate and a reasonable fear of getting locked up in a Thai prison for a long time if they did report a stillborn birth.

Is it illegal to report still births in Thailand ?

Could well be that they had a baby born alive, didnt know what to do with it an threw it away .

That's possible, but not the scenario I was responding to.

Easy to sit at our air conditioned keyboards and demand justice based on our expectations of how life works.

Its not beyond reasonable expectations of other people to dispose of their Childs body in a respectable way .

Anyway, what would have been the outcome , had they gone to a hospital for the birth ?

Assuming that they were in Thailand illegally

If they had gone to a hospital , what would have been the outcome ?

Would the hospital give assistance to the birth process , deliver the baby ,and come to an agreement about financial payment

Or would the hosptal refuse to threat them and call the immigration authority?

Anyone know what would happen ?

I am sure an autopsy would soon clarify if still born or live birth, did the lungs contain air or fluid?

Not as easy as that  :) The float test isn't very reliable and is one of the  sneaky 7 lung checks.

If they were quick to offer a 4 day aging, this suggests this was a live birth. Rot usually sets in prior to delivery on a still born. You will see  it with the deterioration of tissue connectivity. One has to be very careful when handling these specimens as a limb can easily be pulled off,  or the skin torn.  Sometimes the child can die as a result of the birth, especially if it is a difficult delivery. The head can be crushed or  the  child delivered in the wrong position such that it literally  is strangled.

The  female who delivered this child must be in a terrible state and is most likely in need of medical assistance. I hope that she wasn't one of the local sex workers who was beaten by a pimp or a customer causing the loss of life.

A savagery and angry savage culture

We don't that yet. Teenagers can panic. Of course it could be violence. Whatever the   cause, the   mother is in need of urgent psychological and medical assistance.

I am sure its not the first and not the last, governments all around the world need to educate kids on alternatives when they reach this age, so that they can give the child up for adoption, i.e. if in fact it was alive without any interjection from the family, i.e. privacy should be a priority for the mother and father of the child.

SAD for all concerned, if the child was stillborn they should still be able to approach the hospital without feeling they will be persecuted and the autopsy can clear them of any wrong doing, but if they killed the child, throw the weight of the law at them, no matter how light it is here.

Find the parents and charge them with murder

More probably a desperate confused mother with no money and thinking she had no choices. I expect the baby has been born to a migrant worker. Just very sad. We will probably never know.

Multiple posts removed, Thai bashing, military bashing and many attempts on jokes.

All this over a tragic event.

Makes me  :bah:

Reporting the stillbirth would be followed with investigation of legal status perhaps.

However, if that was the case perhaps instead of burying the possibly stillborn infant on a beach it could have been left at a temple where it should have been provided last rites?
