The Sukhothai provincial administration organisation (PAO) has prepared 50,000 sandbags to reinforce the flood prevention wall after holes previously found on it have been plugged.

Pansiri Kulnatsiri, president of the Sukhothai PAO, said the holes on the flood prevention wall in front of Wat Thai Chumphol have been fixed while the amount of floodwater in the municipality area has dropped.

However, as it is still in the rainy season and water in the Yom river passing Sukhothai may rise again, it is necessary to take measures to cope with it.

Was in Suk on Sunday went for lunch. No floods or any water come to that. But the fields approaching Suk were under heaps of water. One more down pore and the place will be a no go zone.
