If Brits were 3% less stupid there would be no Brexit.

Did you not  realise that there was a national referendum and all Brits had one vote each to decide ?

Did you not realize that voting and related laws were created to maintain a facade, according to which you have a say in the matter, but in reality(which most people refuse to deal with) you don't.

Voting was created for people to vote for their Government , just as a facade , so people just think that they are voting and they are mot really electing their Government ?

Let me qualify my opinion by saying that I am American..

I know My response is a bit  wordy .

I don"t believe Believe Brits are more or less educated. Perhaps marginally more, perhaps marginally less , but not significantly divergent from countries with its level of development to make a difference.

If we knew more we would have done differently.....

 20/20 hindsight.

If my Grandma had a penus they would call her Grandpa.....

It is what it is. So what is it?

We are at a transitional time, one that has only happened a few times in human history,

From the industrial era, to the information era, and as with any transition, there is displacement, so there is with this transition.

We are in a state of flux, we have one leg in the industrial era and one leg in the info era. Very hard for people to keep their balance.

People are scared, and when people are scared they do strange things.

Every good salesman knows the following: The fear of loss is much greater than the desire for gain.

No one is better in sales than Politicians, They played on people's fear of losing what they have worked so hard for  as opposed to what they had to gain from remaining in .

Here in the US we got some of the same , and were sold a bill of goods and a Trump.

Could we use to be a little more educated?   Sure!!  will there ever be a time when we would not?

I wonder if Brexit influenced anyone else's life in Thailand.?  I was in the process of leaving here and settling in Spain. The £ was trading at 1.40 euro at that time and I worked it all out in a budget of rent etc and could afford the move. Then Brexit and suddenly £ fell like a stone and is now 1.10 if you're lucky!  Plans had to be abandoned and now I'm an economic prisoner in Thailand!!

Still, could be worse I suppose. We have our 'freedom' back.

They don't think they vote. they actually vote it just doesn't make a difference. no government has ever been elected by the people. it's elected by a small group of people who determined in the first place, who you can vote for.

A recent example: a small group of people (within the :"democrat" party) determined that Americans could not vote for Sanders.

A glimpse in to the mind of a highly indoctrinated educated Brussels official:

"First we need to ignore reams of supportive data. Now, let's ponder how the preservation of national identity could be of any possible benefit to the UK populace. A national identity creates racism. No study is necessary. Case closed."

national identity;
  1. a sense of a nation as a cohesive whole, as represented by distinctive traditions, culture, and language.
