A monk in Pattaya has been defrocked after he was caught in bed with a woman.

Phra Bunlert Jittaparo, 46, was in bed with Sukanda Jairak, 42, when a party of Bang Lamung police and soldiers arrived at lodgings near a temple in Sukhumvit Pattaya 6.

A video showed the raiding party at the property in the middle of the night. There was also a five year old boy in the room.

Monk Bunlert denied having sex with the woman - it was just a cuddle.

But he admitted it was wrong and not appropriate according to Buddhist precepts.

He said he would look for another "job" in the morning.

Tnews reported that Sukanda burst into tears as Bunlert was led away back to his temple nearby, ahead of his defrocking by the abbot that would take place next morning

Another monk, Jarae Chamhan, 44, was found in another room but he was alone.

Tnews called on the authorities to clear up the area as there have been reports of drug taking in the vicinity that is hardly good for the image of tourism at the resort.

Sadly, more and more ordained people find it too hard to resist the temptations

of the pleasures sex and wealth can do to a man, and once they got the bug,

the road to ruins of body and soul are are just around the corner...

Good grief a monk breaking his vow of celibacy, i am shocked, really shocked.:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Whatever next? monks accepting money!!!!

Surely someone is making up a story, as it is something that no monk would do.

Yes they are all the same, becoming a monk means nothing to them, only a way of escaping justice.

Not news; it's happening all over the country every day of every week of every month of every year.  You can't change people by giving them an orange cloak to wear !

The other monk in another room .. Was he waiting his turn or was this some sort of role play scenario that ultimately ended with the ladee being spit roasted after Jarae burst in ..

Seriously doesn't Prayuth and his junta have more serious matters to attend to than kicking in the doors of a guy getting laid?

probably he was watching the couple using tricks on each other and was "hand working" which is not forbidden???

Ordained ?

I think you are elevating entry into the Thai monkhood beyond it's actual level.

In most cases entry into the wat is short-term, often at the behest of family and many times as an act of cleansing following some misdemeanor.

Rarely is it a career move.

Also, frequently to avoid working for a living, pretending to be contrite over some serious or not-so-serious matter or just hiding from someone over a criminal activity that went wrong.  Yep, there are good and bad; and way to many bad!!!!
